My theory of relativity

January 20, 2011

It’s all relative.

When you’re regularly sleeping in two or three hour stretches (like I am as a new mom), suddenly four or five hours of sleep becomes a long and restful night of relaxation.

Everyone’s situation is unique, and whether you’re in marketing, or just looking to get along with your fellow-man in this big, crazy world, we could all do well to consider someone else’s situation when we’re working with them.

Not all communities are created equal, so you should always flex your messaging and your strategies to meet your audience’s needs. This doesn’t mean you flex your values or simply tell different groups what they want to hear. But making your messaging appeal to a specific community shows you are listening, and that you understand who your fans, friends and followers really are.
